In this pivotal role, you'll be on the front lines of lung cancer screening, pre-screening patients to ensure eligibility for LCS and working with insurance providers to secure authorizations. Your commitment to patient care will shine as you re-engage with patients to reschedule CT scans, ensuring that no one falls through the cracks.

You'll play a crucial role in our quality assurance efforts, documenting scan results and other metrics to support LCS committees and monitoring multiple task buckets for LCS orders. Your dedication to excellence will be evident as you support our weekly Suspicious Nodule Conference, assisting in the preparation and summation of recommendations made by our multidisciplinary team.

Position Summary    

Functions as a member of the lung cancer screening team in the implementation and coordination of lung cancer screening (LCS).


Essential Duties    

  1. Pre-screens patients in accordance with LCS eligibility. 
  2. Works with Utilization Management to request authorizations from insurance providers that require pre-authorization for LCS.
  3. Re-engages no call/no show patients each month to reschedule CTs.
  4. Reports number of scans performed each month to LCS committees. Documents positive versus negative scans and other quality metrics as needed.
  5. Monitors multiple task buckets for LCS orders.
  6. Supports weekly Suspicious Nodule Conference including preparation of weekly spreadsheet, calculation of risk malignancy, attendance at Nodule Conference and summation of agreed upon recommendations made by the multidisciplinary team. 
  7. Serves as a resource in regard to the purpose and details of lung cancer screening and incidental nodule management protocols through review of the consent, protocol and IRB submission documents. Avoids deviations from protocols.
  8. Implements services that recognize age-specific needs and issues for customers served.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  2. Work Experience: 2 years of recent and relevant clinical experience, which may include performing as a medical assistant and/or comparable experience preferred.
  3. Special Training, Certification or Licensure: None

 

Salary Range: $19.00 - $23.00
