Summary

 

Position Summary
Manages Pulmonary Physiology, and Respiratory Care department. Collaborates with the leadership team, medical director and staff to ensure quality patient care delivery. Manages the staff, departmental budget, and day to day operations to meet department goals.

Essential Duties

  1. Manages/supervises and develops an effective staff: providing effective communication, leadership, guidance and resources. Determines staff qualifications and competency: recruits, interviews, selects, hires, trains, orients, mentors, evaluates, coaches, counsels, disciplines, and rewards.  Establishes and monitors staff safety and regulatory compliance.
  2. Collaborates with the staff and medical director to develop and provide a quality, cost effective, patient care delivery system that is consistent with national standards and guidelines.
  3. Oversees personnel, capital, space and operational expenses to meet goals and objectives. 
  4. Serves as the subject matter expert to assure Physiology and Respiratory Care Services are in compliance as required by regulatory entities including; State, Federal, College of American Pathologists (CAP), Joint Commission and other related agencies as required. Directs compliance of Colorado state licensure law for all clinicians in assigned service areas.
  5. Oversees formulation of policies and procedures, staff orientation, utilization of institutional information systems and the competency program for areas of responsibility. 
  6. Collaborates with the Medical Director on clinical research activities and development of new clinical tests.  Supports research projects that will contribute to patient care standards, staff development and the mission of the institution.
  7. Assists with patient care as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Education: Associate’s degree in physiology, respiratory care, or health sciences required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.  
  2. Work Experience: A minimum of 5 years of Health care experience required, and 2 years of supervisory or management experience required. Experience working in a PFT lab preferred.
  3. Special Training, Certification or Licensure: Registered as Respiratory Care Practitioner or a Pulmonary Function Technologist with the National Board for Respiratory Care required.  BLS required. 

 

Salary Range: $100,000 - $120,000
