Summary

 

Position Summary

The Medical Staff Quality Coordinator implements, guides and supports provider quality programs such as ongoing professional practice evaluations, processing and auditing statistics, and identifying process improvement initiatives under the supervision of the Director, Medical Staff Services.

Essential Duties

  1. Coordinates the Medical Staff Services provider quality program, querying multiple data sources for clinical, procedural, and credentialing data used to evaluate performance for all providers with privileges.   Conduct systematic data collection and reporting of selected quality indicators and outcomes, working cooperatively with IST and HIM. 
  2. Aggregates, analyzes, and maintains provider-specific quality data.  Work cooperatively with IST to develop protocols to extract data from multiple clinical systems, and assimilate the data into provider report cards.  Create and maintain a centralized data repository for provider quality data.
  3. Implements ongoing quality review and assurance of extracted data, recognizing, investigating and validating discrepancies.  Identify outlying trends in provider data and report them to the Director, Medical Staff Services.
  4. Ensures provider report cards (ongoing professional practice evaluations) contain validated data, and are presented in a clear manner that supports credentialing and privileging, working with MSS Director to identify and link necessary provider data to privileging forms, ensuring appropriate data to support ongoing readiness for TJC. 
  5. Disseminates report cards to providers, Chiefs and Chairs.  Track division and department review of OPPE reports, retaining required data for TJC surveys.
  6. Attends, as requested the Medical Staff Committees where quality factors are reviewed and discussed.

Other Duties

  1. Works to learn the credentialing and privileging process to assist in that area if demands necessitate.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  2. Work Experience: A minimum of 3 years of recent and related experience in healthcare, data collection/analysis/reporting, quality data and metrics, FPPE or OPPE.
  3. Special Training, Certification and Licensure: None 

 

Salary Range: $24.00 - $28.00
