Summary

 

Position Summary
Performs environmental cleaning following standards established by the department, Infectious Control measures to maintain a safe and clean environment for patients, staff and visitors. Assists the ES Supervisor and ES Manager as needed. 

Essential Duties

  1. Performs cleaning functions for area(s), assigned to them each day, which includes but not limited to: vacuuming carpets; dust mopping tile floors; cleaning and disinfecting bathroom surfaces; damp wiping surfaces; wet mopping tile floors; using properly diluted chemicals; high dusting; using the right cleaning equipment and supplies for each area; and trash removal from the area(s) they are cleaning.
  2. Removes any biohazard waste containers throughout the facility, as instructed by the ES Supervisor. 
  3. Performs specialty cleaning functions for area(s) assigned to them each day which includes but not limited to: projects such as wall and window washing, cleaning areas that have been vacated, vent cleaning, sweeping stairwells, vacuuming elevator tracks, shower and tile scrubbing, and special disinfecting cleaning.
  4. Observes the facility to help identify potential problem areas and reporting facility or equipment malfunctions, suspicious persons, and safety hazards to their ES Supervisor or Manager.
  5. Assists coworkers with requests for setting up or rearranging furniture for meeting in conference rooms, setup of audio-visual equipment, and furniture &/or equipment moves as assigned by the ES Supervisor.
  6. Is responsible for picking up materials to be recycled or shredded throughout the campus.
  7. Performs linen functions to all patient care areas by delivering, removing, maintaining stock at proper levels at each location. 
  8. Is responsible for assisting the Supervisor placing Linen orders with the vendor and reporting daily usage numbers; and distributes lab coats and scrubs from the Linen Room.
  9. May travel to offsite storage and assist with retrieval or returning of records, as needed.
  10. May be required to perform cleaning functions which include: shampoo extraction of carpeting and furniture from spills and stains.
  11. May be asked to perform spray buffing and bonnet cleaning of floors, as assigned by their ES Supervisor.
  12. Assists the Outside Maintenance/ES Technician when that position is away from campus, as well as supports any activities outside. Including snow removal and/or outside trash removal.
  13. Assists the ES Supervisor when the ES Supervisor is away and will include implementation of the shift starting routing and other duties as assigned by the ES Supervisor or Manager.

Other Duties

  1. Helps with major cleaning caused by facility problems such as; floods, water pipe breaks, cafeteria spills, accidents, etc.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.   
  2. Work Experience: Experience in a health care setting is desired. Experience in leading others and previous experience performing Environmental Services duties preferred.
  3. Special Training, Certification or Licensure: None

 

Salary Range: $16.00 - $18.00
