Summary

 

Position Summary    

Provides support for technical personnel, performing basic pulmonary diagnostic testing, cleaning of equipment, ensuring quality control is being performed in the clinical areas and stocking laboratories. This position is responsible for assisting Pulmonary Physiology Services with EMR results, quality review, billing and supporting the Adult and Pediatric testing areas.  


Essential Duties    

  1. Performs and assist with spirometry testing ensuring accuracy, reliability, repeatability and ATS quality standards are obtained.  
  2. Quality reviews all clinic spirometry and processes for appropriate billing and Interpretation. Ensures all clinic spirometry quality control is completed and supplies available.
  3. Performs exhaled nitric oxide testing and enters reportable results into the Clinical Lab Computer system in a timely manner for both Adult and Pediatric testing areas.  
  4. Performs all related responsibilities associated with Pulmonary Physiology clinic spirometry and other assigned testing to include operating and maintaining equipment in accordance with hospital and department safety policy and procedures.
  5. Performs oxygen titration testing per policy, reporting results appropriately and escorting patients to the appropriate area for oxygen setups. 
  6. Performs body plethysmography and DLCO testing under direct supervision that meets ATS standards for quality testing.  
  7. Participates in quality improvement processes on an on-going basis, including acting as quality control subject as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  2. Work Experience: A minimum of one (1) year college with strong mathematical and science skills preferred. 
  3. Special Training, Certification and Licensure: BLS required. Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist CPFT preferred.  

 

Salary Range: Salary for this position is set at $23.00/hour.
