Position Summary
The Training Specialist is responsible for defining, developing, delivering and evaluating training programs for the Health Initiatives programs. This position manages the new agent onboarding and training process, as well as continuing education program for agents and providers.

Essential Duties

  1. Develops and refines new hire agent training and continuing education curriculum by conducting needs assessment, designs content and selects appropriate delivery modes, implements training, monitors and evaluates training effectiveness, and employs continuous quality improvement to adapt training to learner needs.
  2. Maintains knowledge of training trends and evaluates training styles to identify creative and innovative instructional techniques to facilitate learning. Adapts teaching strategy according to the audience to effectively meet different learning styles. Possesses in-depth knowledge of training material and effectively responds to learner questions.  
  3. Maintains content knowledge by reviewing clinical guidelines, topical research, and/or interviewing subject matter experts, with support from the Clinical Director, to inform curriculum development.
  4. Updates training materials and facilitates agent continuing education opportunities by delivering advanced content in line with evidence or coordinating subject matter experts to deliver training.
  5. Provides project management and training expertise to develop continuing education for community providers with subject matter experts, inter-departmental personnel, and external stakeholders.
  6. Creates training updates to ensure successful functioning of newly implemented systems and procedures. Supports new project and quality improvement user acceptance testing to resolve process flows and systems issues.
  7. Identifies and presents opportunities for continuous quality improvement in service delivery, agent feedback, and individual performance through training. Assists with quality assurance programs for Health Initiatives.
  8. Coordinates with workforce management and Director of Operations to ensure efficient and effective onboarding of new agents by facilitating completion of required paperwork, ensuring receipt of equipment and institutional credentials, coordinating new hire orientation and scheduling training, and enrolling new agents in training.
  9. Manages training accreditations with Clinical Director, manages documentation of completed trainings for learners, and manages training evaluations. Serves as primary instructor for Tobacco Treatment Specialist training program.
  10. Creates and maintains reference material (content management system / job aides); manages timely flow of business intelligence information to users.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Adult Education or related field required. Tobacco treatment training preferred.
  2. Work Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of recent and related experience required. Experience with motivational interviewing preferred.
  3. Special Training, Certification or Licensure: None

Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000
