Summary

 

The Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Clinical Research team at National Jewish Health is currently seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator to join our team! 

Although traditionally thought of as a pediatric pulmonary disease, advancements in clinical care as a result of innovative research, has resulted in people with CF living well into adulthood. Our team works with adults with CF on research projects ranging from genotype-specific investigational products to observational studies evaluating the effect pregnancy on women with CF. There are a wide variety of clinical research projects our team works with, offering an opportunity to apply many different skills. 

A successful candidate in this role will be positive, organized, collaborative, and open to learning and mastering new research procedures. The types of procedures our team completes include:

  • Pulmonary function testing
  • Nasal brushing/curettage
  • Sputum induction and collection
  • Nasal potential difference
  • Macroduct sweat collection
  • Phlebotomy

The candidate selected for this role will be responsible for:

  • Study recruitment and enrollment.
  • Coordinating simple to complex study visits.
  • Maintaining clear and orderly investigator site files.
  • Specimen processing and shipping, data entry into electronic data capture systems.
  • IRB submissions and maintenance.

The Clinical Research CF Team engages regularly with the clinical team as well as with physician investigators and is considered an integral part of both the clinical and research teams. 

Knowledge of or experience working in CF is not required. This is an exciting time to be working in clinical research for CF with groundbreaking treatments under development!

Position Summary    

The Clinical Research Coordinator position is a study coordinator with proven ability to work independently. Acts as a preceptor for Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator and Clinical Research Coordinator.


Essential Duties    

  1. Consistently applies Clinical Research Guidelines including Good Clinical Practice, HIPAA regulations, CRS Standard Operating Procedures, applicable NJH Policies and Procedures, and FDA, NIH, OHRP, ICH guidelines as applicable.
  2. Independently masters study materials, including but not limited to protocols, informed consent forms, and all other essential study documents for assigned studies.
  3. Independently performs study-related processes, procedures, and assessments as defined in study protocol and in compliance with regulating bodies and NJH competency requirements.
  4. Complies with regulatory bodies to create and maintain study records, and if applicable, dispensation and accountability of investigational product.
  5. Efficiently implements and successfully executes complex research studies with high quality and appropriate enrollment.
  6. Provides general guidance to new staff and study coordinators.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Education: Bachelor's degree required.
  2. Work Experience: A minimum of 1 year clinical research experience required.
  3. Special Training, Certification or Licensure: BLS required within one month of hire. CITI training required within one month of hire.

 

Salary Range: $25.00 - $28.00
