National Jewish Health is seeking a Web & Social Media Specialist to join our team. The selected candidate will be a skilled content editor with SEO and social media experience to help grow the main National Jewish Health website and social media platforms. National Jewish Health is the leading respiratory hospital in the United States. It is known worldwide for the treatment of patients with respiratory, cardiac, immune and related disorders, and for groundbreaking medical research. Founded by the Jewish community in 1899 as a nonprofit hospital, National Jewish Health remains the only facility in the world dedicated exclusively to these disorders. The Web & Social Media Specialist is responsible for creating and updating website content with search engine optimization and best practices in mind. This is not a content writing position. This position will also monitor analytics for trends and behaviors and recommends changes to help us meet our goals. This person will have a hand in implementing social media campaigns and strategies from our marketing agency. There will be very little writing of social content, but will be the gatekeeper to make sure all posts are created and scheduled properly.

Qualified candidates will have strong communication, basic HTML, social media experience, data analysis and problem solving skills. Google Analytics is a plus, but not required. The successful candidate will join National Jewish Health to advance our mission to change the lives of patients worldwide through healing, making discoveries and providing education. 
 

Position Summary    

This position is integral in maintaining content for the website and social media channels at National Jewish Health. Owns numerous areas of content on the site from start to finish, including search engine optimization and reporting. Owns the health of and content flow on social media platforms, supports content contributors and content management tools. 


Essential Duties    

  1. Performs website content maintenance and makes updates to existing National Jewish Health medical, institutional and philanthropic content from various internal sources for inclusion on the National Jewish Health website.  
  2. Implements content in support of the National Jewish Health social media strategy across multiple social platforms. 
  3. Owns and manages social platform set-up, performance and social media management tools. Responsible for ensuring effective content contributions from owners throughout the organization, including Marketing, Development, Pro Ed, HR and Web. 
  4. Monitors social performance and key analytics. Reports on outcomes and seeks opportunities to increase adoption and engagement.
  5. Monitors and responds to exchanges taking place on social media sites.
  6. Works closely with key stakeholders to understand their needs and involve them in planning and problem solving (including Communications, IT, HR, Departments, as well as executives and administrative staff). Plans and prioritizes initiatives to support key business objectives. Communicate actively with all main stakeholder and user groups.
  7. Identifies and implements search engine performance enhancements. 
  8. Creates new Microsites for support of key functional areas, such as events, departments and programs.
  9. Uses technical solutions to deliver content effectively and ensures that content is integrated completely, including taxonomy, cross-linking and other best practices.
  10. Implements new features and functionality, content and designs within the back-end tools available in the utilized platforms. Tests and validates system capabilities, ensuring quality control to the end users.
  11. Maintains strong working knowledge of website systems. Provides website troubleshooting for public users, clients, and staff.

Travel

Minimal travel between the Galleria and main campus.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Education: Bachelor degree in Communications, Marketing, Advertising, or related field, required.
  2. Work Experience: A minimum of 2 years of Web content management, search engine optimization, information architecture, design, HTML, social media and digital communication experience required.
  3. Special Training, Certification or Licensure: Experience with Google Analytics, Kentico or other enterprise-level content management systems, knowledge of HTML, CSS, Microsoft Office, social media and marketing tools preferred.


Salary Range: $60,000 - $70,000

 

Schedule: This position will be scheduled Monday - Friday from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. The role has a hybrid schedule with some days working in the office and some days working from home.
